Join us for the first edition of Macha Alive- a sort of min-festival to honour and learn about Macha and the ancient site: Emain Mhacha

Macha Alive is the first edition of a festival dedicated solely to acknowledging the presence and significance of the goddess Macha.

Through music, photography, and curated talks, we aim to provide the recognition she deserves—long overlooked, now is the time to see her.

Join us as we explore the connections to Macha and celebrate her enduring legacy in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.

MACHA arts collective will also be showcasing + selling their work

Together, let's honor her story and the steps that lead us to her!

Opening Ceremony by Ciara Mchugh

“Together we will commune to honour and acknowledge the divine feminine power of Goddess Macha and the land and history of Emain Macha”
With her experience, time and the many gifts she possess, She will guide us as we open space, a safe container for the day ahead.
Ciara is devoted to a spiritual life and working with others on theirs and a grateful witness for all the potential someone can become to weave their life into holistic wellness”

Talk by Dr Patrick Gleeson (archeologist)

Dr. Patrick Gleeson has been involved in archaeological research and conservation work at Navan Fort (Emain Mhacha) in Armagh. His work has focused on the historical and archaeological significance of the site, exploring its connections to ancient rituals and societal structures.

'Art presentation of photography by 'Hawthorn +Stone"

Hawthorn and Stone is an Armagh based photographer and curious explorer of the great mysteries, exploring myths and legends through the photographic lens. He is passionate about ancient sites, The night sky and is currently working on a Project on portal tombs.

Performance of a composition commissioned for Macha by Brian Finnegan

Brian Finnegan is an accomplished Irish musician, best known for his work as a flute and whistle player. He is a prominent figure in traditional Irish music and has been a member of the acclaimed group Flook, which has garnered recognition for its innovative blend of traditional tunes and contemporary influences. Finnegan is celebrated for his virtuosic playing style and has contributed to various musical projects and collaborations.
