Saw Thunder Heard Lightning

At Sinai, "All the people saw the sounds and the lightning, the voice of the horn and the mountain smoking" 

Inspired by sensory and symbolic language of Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks, this showcase brings together musicians and visual artists across five live sets and eight artworks for one night.

A night of performance and atmosphere, asking: how might sound, sight, scent, and taste touch the time spent in a shared room? 

Participating artists and performers have been invited to engage with themes of harvest, joy, reception, and revelation. Exploring the theme of union, each musical set is conceived as a collaboration between musicians and artist pairings. Exhibited artworks highlight motifs such as fruit, dairy, lightning, and wheat, across sculpture, natural dyes, edible elements, and site-specific installations 

The evening draws from Jewish texts and mysticism as source material for creative work and contemporary expression. All are welcome.
