Compost Extractor Field Day: Biological Inputs for Dryland Crops

Tue Sep 8, 2026 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Schreiber Farm, 62631 CR 42, Arriba, CO, 80804

Join Colorado Department of Agriculture, High Plains Conservation District, and Mad Agriculture for a hands-on look at the Core Bio Ag compost extractor, a shared piece of equipment now available to producers across the region.

You'll see the extractor in action, learn how to use it to create a biological rich extract, get ideas on how and when to use it for seed inoculation, foliar application, and side-dressing, and find out how to access it for use as a free or low-cost rental for your own operation. While the extractor runs, we'll also walk the farm to look at Stu's bin renovation project, the rye pasture crop, and the Kernza® perennial field. This is the beginning of this work, so a learners mindset is required!

Provided: Lunch, coffee and water
Bring: Hat, sunscreen, and outdoor shoes
