The Hidden Lives of Garden Bees - A talk with author and bee advocate, Brigit Strawbridge

This illustrated talk focusses on our beautiful native bumblebees - how they live, work, and thrive in our gardens, and why they matter more than we realise.

Planet Earth is home to more than 20,000 different species of bee; as diverse in size and appearance, as they are in behaviour, life cycles, and habitat requirements. Around 280 of these species can be found in Britain & Ireland. This illustrated talk will focus on Bumblebees - their lifecycles, roles as pollinators, and how we can help by creating more pollinator-friendly gardens and habitats.

Brigit Strawbridge is a wildlife gardener amateur naturalist, and advocate of bees. Based in Cornwall, she writes, speaks, and campaigns to raise awareness of the importance and diversity of native wild bees and other pollinating insects. 

Brigit is the author of Dancing with Bees: A Journey Back to Nature. 

She is patron of charity ‘Caring for God’s Acre’ and ambassador for CIC ‘Kernow Conservation’
