Big Day Out to Derby Festé

ABOUT THIS TRIP

Made With Many invites Wellingborough residents to join us for a day out at Derby Festé, for a programme that is packed full of immersive, innovative, and ground-breaking work showcased across the city of Derby for a whole range of audiences of all ages. Prepare for a spectacular outdoor circus and dance, dazzling acrobatics, and the return of its iconic procession, across Derby City locations.

This coach trip on Saturday 23rd September to Derby Festé is free to attend for Wellingborough residents (this includes areas within the former borough of Wellingborough). The true cost of each place (£20) is being covered by generous funding from Arts Council England.

This year's festival will see Rush, Soundcatchers, Awesome Wolf,  Riverlife Procession and the Delrevés Finale...and much, much more going on throughout the day. Full details of Saturday's programme can be found here: https://www.derbyfeste.com/line-up/

ITINERARY
Please arrive at Jackson's Lane Car Park for 11:45 am. You will be able to park here for free. The address you need is: Jackson's Lane Car Park, High Street, Wellingborough, NN8 4LD | Link to Google map.

11:45am - Registration. Registration will be 15 minutes before the coach is set to leave. Jess and Marian from Made With Many will be there to sign you in - there is no need to print your tickets as you will be listed on the register.

12:00pm - Departure from Wellingborough. Depart Jacksons Lane, High Street, Wellingborough,NN8 4LD.

1:40pm - Arrival at Derby QUAD, Market Place, Cathedral Quarter, Derby, DE1 3AS. There are toilets here if you require a comfort break when we arrive or at any point throughout the day.

When we arrive in Derby: We will be making our way to the Festival Info Hub in Market Square (adjacent to Derby QUAD) where we will be greeted by the Artistic Director of Déda, who will give us a quick introduction to the festival and issue each attendee a free programme. You will be free to explore the city for approximately 8 hours, and will have a member of staff’s contact number if you should need us. The festival takes place across the city centre so there will be lots of places to get some refreshments. 

9:30pm - Departure from Derby city centre. There will be a short comfort stop on the journey home.

11:10pm - Arrival in Wellingborough. The coach will arrive at Jacksons Lane, High Street, Wellingborough, NN8 4LD. This is an approximate arrival time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Your emergency contact on the day is Marian - tel no. 07535 940055
• We will be in Derby for 8hrs, so remember to stay hydrated! We recommend that you bring a refillable water bottle.
• Derby Feste is spread across the city centre and not centralised in one location. Please wear comfortable shoes.

We aim to make this trip as easy to access as possible so please contact us if you wish to discuss anything on info@madewithmany.org

• This trip is open to and suitable for all ages. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Buggies can be stowed under the coach and we strongly recommend that you bring a car seat for children that would usually use them, as we will be travelling on the motorway. Unfortunately, we cannot install ISOFIX seats, nor provide our own car seats. You will be able to leave the seat on the coach for the way back. Please be aware of the late finish and long day if bringing younger children.
• The coach can accommodate folding wheelchairs under the coach and there are steps up to the coach, so some walking will be required to alight and disembark. Unfortunately, we cannot secure non-folding wheelchairs in the coach.
• There will be toilets available at the drop-off location when we arrive in Derby. We will offer a short comfort break on the way back to Wellingborough, however the trip to Derby will be direct. As this is a short-haul coach, there will be no WC facilities on board.
