A ‘torma’ is a special offering of food made in order to gain spiritual attainments. These traditional offerings (usually made of marzipan or fondant) are offered to the Buddhas in various ritual practices and prayers such as empowerments, retreats and chanted prayers. Representing an offering of great bliss, tormas can range from very simple to exquisitely beautiful. They are made at all Kadampa Centres, so this is a useful skill to learn if you want to help your centre flourish.
On this course with experienced torma maker Gen Kelsang Dema, full instruction and practical demonstrations will be given. No previous experience is necessary.
