Harmonies of Hope: A Path to Peace

Music has the power to heal, to unite, and to remind us of our shared humanity. That power lies at the heart of our Spring concerts—themed "Harmonies of Hope: A Path to Peace." This unique repertoire explores the struggles of war, the longing for peace, and the hope that carries us forward.

Our program includes R. Vaughan Williams' "Dona Nobis Pacem," a powerful and deeply moving plea for peace featuring guest soloists; Veljo Tormis’ "Varjele, Jumala, Soasta" (God Protect Us from War); and "Una Sanõsa Porfía," a Renaissance piece by Juan del Encina. A special highlight will be Naomi LaViolette’s "Racing the Moon," winner of our inaugural “Call for Scores” competition. You can find more details in this blog from our artistic director, Joseph To.

Concert dates are Saturday May 3 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday May 4 at 2:00 pm.

Doors will open 20 minutes before the event start time and there will be an intermission with refreshments halfway through the performance.
