Moms, Mimosas, & Mahjong - Mahjong 101, 102 & Open Play

Join Lindsey Fraser with Mahjong Mama NWA for a morning out celebrating all the Moms at Terracotta in Bentonville! Whether you're a Dog Mom, Cat Mom, Friends to a Mom, a Mom yourself, or want to bring your own Mom, this event is for you! With three options of play available, there will be lots of Mahjong, lots of laughs, and lots of fun and prizes.

9:30-11:30AM - Mahjong 101 (Learn to Play)

A beginner-friendly introduction to American Mahjong. Learn the tiles, rules, NMJL card, intro to Charleston, and gameplay flow. All mahjong supplies provided for lesson. No experience required.

12:00-2:00PM - Mahjong 102 (Guided Play) OR Open Play

Mahjong 102 (Guided Play) - Quick recap of Mahjong 101, complete Charleston with introduction to blind passes, strategy, hand selection, and guided play for hands-on learning. Mahjong 102 is perfect for those that have completed a beginner lesson and still have questions as they play, or for those that have stepped away from the game for a bit and need a quick refresher. At least one prior American Mahjong lesson required.

Open Play - Find a seat at the table for an afternoon of Open Play with other mahjong players in the community. NMJL rules, blanks, towers, messy - all forms of play are welcome. Beginner friendly! Assistants available for questions. Mahjong sets provided. Bring your 2026 NMJL Card or borrow one there. Must know how to play. This is not a lesson.
