Parsifal

On 27th and 31st May 2026 the Mahler Players will give two performances of Parsifal, Wagner’s “festival play for the consecration of the stage” in the glorious Cathedral of Inverness. The first complete presentation of the work in Scotland since 2003, our semi-staged performances will include atmospheric lighting, a 40-piece orchestra, a 30-strong chorus and a world-class line-up of soloists, led by the legendary Sir John Tomlinson reprising his signature role of Gurnemanz.

Join us for what will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience hearing an entire Wagner music-drama in the Highlands, lovingly built up over the last eighteen months by the Mahler Players and their Music Director Tomas Leakey.

During the two intervals audience members will be able to enjoy food and drinks on site from French-Scottish food truck Highland Bouchon or a sit-down meal at the Palace Hotel (Sunday 31st only). The Cathedral grounds will be set up with parasols, extra lavatory facilities and additional furniture for your comfort.
