The Rt. Hon. the Lord Soames of Fletching, the grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, has had a long Parliamentary career, having been a Conservative MP from 1983 - 2019 (Crawley then Mid-Sussex), Armed Forces Minister, Shadow Defence Secretary and now is a member of the International Relations and Defence Committee in the House of Lords.
