Poetry Workshop: Place, Ecopoetry and the Environment

Join poet Christopher Horton for an inspiring poetry workshop exploring the relationship between place, nature and creativity.

Through discussion, guided writing exercises and shared readings, you'll discover how the natural world can inspire fresh ideas, deepen emotional expression and shape your own unique poetic voice. If the weather allows, the workshop will also include a short walk outdoors to gather inspiration from the surrounding environment, using natural objects and landscapes as creative prompts.

Whether you're new to poetry or an experienced writer looking for fresh inspiration, Christopher will provide a welcoming and supportive space to experiment, write and share your work with others.

Please bring something to write with, sturdy walking shoes in case the group heads outdoors, and, above all, an open mind.

His first short collection, Perfect Timing, was released by tall-lighthouse press in 2021 and a second collection, Clutter Jar, was released by Broken Sleep Books in 2025. He lives near Canterbury with his wife and two children.
