KATIE FORD MSc ACS has worked as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for over 20 years, helping children to develop the communication skills, confidence and resilience they need to thrive, just like the characters in her books!

Through Puffy Puffs Up! and The Puffy Activity Book, Katie helps children to navigate social situations and to make sense of complex emotions, encouraging self-understanding and self-acceptance, as well as empathy towards others.

Katie's latest book, The Gnome with No Name, is inspired by the sometimes overwhelming feeling of wanting to wrap our loved ones up in bubble wrap, to keep them safe and protected from anything that might harm them. After all, life is a bumpy road. This story is about accepting and even embracing the fact that we all get bumped and chipped when we live life to the full. Our experiences are what shape us and make us who we are.

Katie lives with her family in the Kent countryside. She loves stories and poetry, music and nature. Plus, of course, she loves any opportunity to play!
