Tap-In presents animation with Elizabeth Hobbs over two evenings. Book single sessions, or book them both for a more in depth experience.

Traditional drawn animation with ink and paint on paper.

We will explore the joyful technique of drawn animation on paper with artist animator Lizzy Hobbs. Each participant will have the chance to create their own sequence of animation and discover how to take animation into their own practice. Lizzy will also share some examples of artists animation for inspiration.

In this first session participants will be guided through the process of bringing simple drawings to life by creating loops and short sequences with ink or charcoal on paper and recording them frame by frame using stop motion studio on smartphones.

No animation experience required.

Bio

Elizabeth Hobbs is a renown traditional animator with a background in artist’s books and printmaking. Her films are made under a rostrum camera, and in the production of her animated films she has used relief print on 35mm film, butterfly prints, images created with a typewriter, paint on a bathroom tile, collage and paint and ink on paper.
