Tania Crossingham and Pauliina Yliniitty, both experienced artists and teachers have teamed up to create Making Manuscripts to offer online classes in medieval calligraphy and illumination.

Tania is an artist and formally trained art educator who has been creating and teaching medieval illumination for over 35 years. Her work has been sold to clients all over the world.

Pauliina is a formally trained calligrapher who has been writing for 17 years who has been teaching in Finland for 9 years.

Making Manuscripts is a series of online workshops where we explore Illuminated Manuscripts through the centuries. Each workshop will focus on a time period, and you will learn the calligraphy and Illumination style of that period. Here is a list of workshops that we will be running for 2024.

August 10/11 - Anglo-saxon

October 5/6 - Romanesque I

November 23/24 - Romanesque II

If you cannot attend a live event, then the workshop will be recorded and you will have access to all recordings and material for one month.
