OUR PERFORMERS
This October, Bedford-based musicians Katherine Crompton, Ed Grint, and Tim Grant-Jones come together in support of local charity Malawi Orphan Fund, with "An Afternoon at the Opera" - a concert of inspirational opera favorites.
Singers - Katy and Ed
Husband and wife vocalists Ed and Katy are well established in the international opera scene, with recent performances including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, Aix en Provence Festival, Opera Montpellier, Salzburg Festival and Scottish Opera. They have appeared together numerous times on stage, for the London Handel Festival, the Early Opera company, and more recently for the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Norway, for Mozart’s Requiem.
Pianist - Tim Grant-Jones
Composer, soloist, and more - Tim specialized in the art of piano accompaniment while studying at the Royal Academy of Music, winning the Kate Leventon Prize for accompanying. He is music adviser and chief accompanist for the annual Bedfordshire Festival of music, and serves as the organist for All Saints’ Church in Kempston.
OUR CAUSE
All proceeds will help us support a large school in Malawi, "Home of Hope", which provides all-through education (Nursery to Technical College) for over 700 children in one of the most impoverished countries in the world.
During the event we'll have a short refreshments break with drinks and treats for sale.
We look forward to welcoming you to a wonderful Afternoon at the Opera!
Thank you!
