UCLAN ROLLERSKI COACHING SESSION

& FESTIVE GATHERING

PLUS CARA'S RESEARCH PROJECT - IF PARTICIPATING

The final roller ski session of 2024 is at Uclan Sports Arena, Nr Preston is on the 14th December. Whether it's your first time, you are relatively new to the sport or a seasoned roller skier, we hope you will be able to join us for this and in addition to receiving top-notch coaching as usual, you are warmly invited to a festive gathering at the end of the session when hot juice and seasonal goodies such as mince pies and gingerbread will be served by your ever-attentive coaches! 

We also have one of our instructors and GB Biathlete, Cara Loates, carrying out research for her dissertation on "The effect of a strengthening intervention on modifiable risk factors in overuse ankle injuries among recreational cross-country skiers." If you are interested in helping Cara with her research contact her on caraloates@gmail.com

Once again they will start on Saturday morning at 9.45 until 12.30, with a short break for a brew etc. Bring your own drinks and snacks if you like or the cafe is open.

Some of these sessions will be enhance with workshops, details later.

Kit hire will be available at all the sessions. If hiring boots, early booking is recommended in case there is a high demand for your size. Please arrive by 9.20 if hiring kit.

Cost: 

Sessions with kit hire will cost £15.00 for adults or £8.00 with own kit.

Under 18's cost is £8.00 with or without kit hire.

Membership: Come to as many or as few sessions as you like. Just a reminder that for insurance purposes we have to ask anyone who is not yet a club member to join the club if they wish to continue with the coaching after an initial taster session.

Safety:

It is a requirement that you wear a helmet for the sessions – most people use a cycle helmet. The club does not provide helmets so you will need to bring your own. 

The club has some knee and elbow pads which can be borrowed if hiring kit for the sessions and you are strongly advised to bring and wear gloves.

In accordance with our booking terms at UCLAN, all participants must join a coaching group. Independent circuit skiing is not allowed.

Refund Policy:

The session will NOT be cancelled due to rain, but in the event that the session has to be cancelled due to reasons relating to Coronavirus booking fees will be refunded.
