The next MCCSC Telemark Coaching Session of 2026 is on the 7th June, at The Snow Centre, Manchester, near The Trafford Centre. So whether you’re new to Telemark (Alpine experience required) or a seasoned participant, we hope you will be able to join us for this and further dates below.

The sessions start on a Sunday at 12:00 until 14:00 (please arrive early, particularly during the winter season or school holidays).

We also take refreshments & social upstairs in The Lodge after the session.

LIFT PASS: MCCSC Lift Pass

Use the MCCSC link, or purchase direct from The Snow Centre Manchester, Minimum 2.0 hours. Discounted price* for MCCSC members is £28 from 2025 per two-hour session, or use weekly, monthly or season passes.

(*Please note that this discount only applies to our club coaching sessions, not general lift passes).

NEW MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA FROM 1ST NOVEMBER 2025

Unless you are joining a MCCSC coaching session for the first time, ALL participants must be a member of SE (Snowsport England) & an affiliated club, such as MCCSC. You will need to take out two separate memberships to be able to join any club activity for insurance purposes.

Telemarkers now need to book the coaching session via Ticket Tailor (free of charge).

In addition to having purchased a valid Lift Pass from The Snow Centre.

SKI STANDARDS FOR THE COACHING SESSIONS:

  • Telemark Novice (with no or little experience)

You must be able to make non-Telemark turns, from the top of the main slope.

Ski Beginners must enrol for Alpine lessons in the ski school. Contact The Snow Centre Manchester.

  • Telemark Intermediate (somewhere in between Telemark Novice & Advanced).
  • Telemark Advanced (Single phase Telemark parallel turns and above).
  • Note we often combine Intermediates and advanced at club sessions (from the top of the slope).

Telemark equipment hire: Please arrive by 11:20 if hiring kit.

The Snow Centre Manchester has a limited number of Adult NTN Telemark boots and skis with NTN bindings. The old TN (75mm) equipment is no longer available.

MCCSC cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet all requests. The equipment will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please bring your own Telemark equipment if you have any. See Telemark Q&A’s for further details.

Safety:

It is a requirement that you wear a Ski helmet, gloves, long sleeves and long pants for the sessions. Helmets are free to hire at The Snow Centre Manchester, readily available and no need to book. Note They are sanitised after each use.

All participants must abide by The Snow Centres T&C’s including a minimum skiing standard.

You must be able to make non-Telemark turns, from the top of the main slope.

BOOKING CONDITIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Only those who have pre-booked may participate in sessions.

Please be prepared to show proof of MCCSC & SE memberships.

WELFARE POLICY:

Manchester Cross Country Ski Club Welfare Officer is Susie Loates and the club is affiliated to Snowsport England.
Susie can be contacted if you have any concerns about a child or adult’s welfare, or for any advice about good practice in our club.
Her role is to provide support and guidance to all club members and help ensure our club provides a happy and safe environment for all participants.
