Workshop Masterclasses for intermediate to advanced players
Intermediate players have a good foundation in the basics of playing their instrument and are comfortable with the fundamentals of basic Irish tunes and ornamentation. They can play a reasonable repertoire of common jigs, reels, hornpipes etc. and are familiar with learning by ear and playing by heart.
Niall Murphy - Fiddle
Hailing from Co. Armagh, multi-talented musician and vocalist Niall Murphy grew up playing Irish traditional music and specialises in Irish folk, country, bluegrass, folk and improv styles. Niall has won multiple prestigious awards, including being five-times national fiddle champion. He has recorded on over 100 albums and singles, many of which are award winning and has played and toured alongside countless household names.
Dónal Murphy - Button Accordion
A master of jigs and reels, during Dónal’s formative years, he grew up in close proximity to Sliabh Luachra, which occupies the rural area where counties Cork, Kerry and Limerick meet, ingraining in him the musical style of the area. Dónal has had an impressive career touring and playing alongside incredible musicians, bands and luminaries of Irish culture.
Damien O'Kane - Banjo
Hailing from Coleraine in Northern Ireland, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Damien O’Kane’s musical journey began at a tender age. Raised in the heart of Irish traditional music, O’Kane quickly honed his skills on the tenor banjo, carving a niche for himself in the vibrant folk scene. His mastery of intricate melodies and soul-stirring rhythms earns him widespread acclaim, establishing him as one of the foremost proponents of Irish music.
Finding The Old Parsonage
Pedestrian access to the house can be found to the left of Ye Olde Cock Inn, Wilmslow Road through the garden entrance or through the gate opposite St. James' Church, Stenner Lane. On-road parking is limited along Stenner Lane, down by Fletcher Moss Gardens. Please take note of any local Pay and Display parking restrictions. We encourage the use of public transport (bus, train, tram). Please see our website for details of local public transport.

Cancellations & Refunds Policy – Ticketed Events
Tickets for events sold through The Gateway to Manchester TradFest cannot be refunded after purchase unless the workshop, ceili or concert is cancelled or rescheduled or there is a material change to the ticketed event. Please note, Manchester TradFest Ltd however will not be liable in any way if a ticketed event is abandoned due to any factors which are beyond our reasonable control such as, acts of God: including earthquakes, storms, flooding, power failure or fire, force majeure: including war, terrorist acts, and civil commotion. In circumstances where refunds are to be given, the refund will equal the face value of the ticket plus any per ticket booking fee.
