Mon 15 Jan 2024 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Lincoln's Inn, The Old Court Room, WC2A 3TL
Description
We are teaming up with Elevate. to host a bespoke retreat in 2024 and this exclusive breakfast event in the historic Old Court Room at Lincoln's Inn is intended to introduce you to them and their facilitators, and to give you a little taster of some of the incredible practices and workshops you can expect if you come on our Elevate. x March Women retreat (Guests are very welcome to attend one standard March event for free before joining the membership).
Elevate. is a wellness concept and retreat brand that draws together multiple disciplines across the spectrum of longevity science to help busy women live better for longer. Elevate. was founded by Natalie Connor, a former barrister-turned-Tech GC and self-confessed longevity nerd who draws together some of the practices and disciplines that have transformed her own life and personal health trajectory - now working alongside some of the expert, world-renowned practitioners who have helped her along the way.
Elevate's three 'Pillars' are Movement; Nutrition; and Mindfulness, and every event or retreat curated by Elevate. helps you to connect more deeply with what your own body and mind needs to thrive in these areas.
At our breakfast we'll be joined by three of Elevate.'s facilitators, each a leading practitioner in their field, who will lead us through 20 minute taster sessions on Movement, Nutrition and Mindfulness.
Scott Berry - Movement
Most people are unaware that from age 30 onwards, every adult experiences atrophy in muscle mass at a rate of up to 13% every decade. That's why resistance-based exercise is our single biggest weapon in the fight against age-related decline, and it's where Scott comes into his own. Scott was formerly the most senior PT at Virgin Active and is now the resident movement expert for Chelsea FC women's team.
He's also been Natalie's trainer for over 5 years, and has taken her on a journey from lethargic, injury-prone yoga bunny to a level of functional strength, resilience and mobility that pound-for-pound surpasses most men in the gym.
Scott's background is in biomechanics and functional movement and in addition to motivational group classes, every retreat guest gets a personalised one-on-one session with him where he will identify your individual imbalances and craft a programme designed for your specific body's needs.
Leo Oppenheim - Mindfulness
Leo is one of the most sought-after facilitators on the international retreat circuit. He heads up yoga at BLOK studios but he's a truly multi-disciplinary practitioner across sound and breath as well as movement.
With Elevate., he focuses on restorative movement, cold water practices and breathwork, and ultimately aims to equip guests with tools that they can take away and incorporate into their daily routines to calm the nervous system and still the mind.
Lara Rickard - Nutrition
Lara is a registered dietician who takes a uniquely functional, root-cause approach to guiding women through the maze of marginalised health conditions that western medicine often doesn't have a complete answer to.
Natalie was fortunate enough to find her after her GP told her there would likely be no answer to her IBS, her recurrent UTIs, or her myriad skin and autoimmune issues beyond hammering her body with antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals. With Lara's help, by reconnecting with her body and making aligned health and lifestyle changes that made sense for her, she was able to cure them all.
On retreat, Lara helps clients tap into their own innate body wisdom and deep-dives into topics that have a massive impact on the day-to-day lives of busy lawyers, such as blood sugar regulation, stress management, and grounding practices.
