Margaret Anstee Centre: Welcome Reception 2026

The Margaret Anstee Centre for Global Studies warmly invites Fellows, students and staff from Newnham, and interested members of other Colleges and Departments, to join us for our Welcome Reception from 5.00 to 6.00pm on Friday 16 October in the Lucia Windsor Room at Newnham College.

Our research centre focuses on economic and social development in the Global South. We will briefly present the work of the MAC, introduce the research of MAC Fellows and Scholars, and the MAC's plans for the year. We would be delighted to meet new and returning members of our College community and hear about your work and how we might connect and collaborate.

This year marks 100 years since the birth of Dame Margaret Anstee, as well as ten years since her passing. We are pleased to be joined this year by a couple of Dame Margaret's good friends to reflect on her life and career and the ongoing impact of her legacy at Newnham.

Drinks and canapés will be provided. We look forward to meeting you. All are welcome.
