This friendly practical workshop introduces participants to cyanotype printing and accessible bookmaking techniques. Participants will work with photographic negatives and locally sourced flora to create cyanotype prints, while also exploring sequencing, and simple book structures through folding and basic binding methods. The session culminates in the creation of a handmade cyanotype book to take home.
The session uses affordable, accessible materials and encourages intuitive, experimental making, supporting confidence, curiosity, and continued creative exploration beyond the workshop. Workshop time includes lunch break 12.30pm - 1pm.
Bio
Margot Minnot Thomas is an artist and facilitator based in England, working internationally. Her practice explores place, identity, and the body’s relationship with nature through photography, moving images, map-making, and socially engaged methodologies. With a background in public programming, she has developed engagement initiatives for institutions including The Wilson and Photoworks. Through collaborative workshops, site-responsive research, and community-driven projects, she fosters meaningful participation, amplifying diverse narratives and connections to place.
