SILK ROAD: A CULINARY VOYAGE OF TASTE AND SOUND

We invite you to join us on a voyage of culinary discovery that stretches through the ages and across half the world, from China in the east to Persia and on to the Mediterranean in the west, along the ancient network of trading routes known today as the Silk Road. We will be weaving the rich flavors of the Silk Road with the rich art and music that this world has to offer. A pure indulgence of the senses, immersed by the surrounding nature in a private location outside of Berlin.

Each place on the Silk Road itself, be it a splendid city, rich trading town, or green oasis, has its own distinctive character and culture and yet is linked across desert and mountain to every other place. The same is true of salads, soups, bread, rice, kabobs, and pastries from Xi'an to Samarkand, from Isfahan to Istanbul, and then northwest to Italy. The menu reflects the many paths taken by traders throughout the trade network —

Reviving the Silk Road and bringing Spices back to its primal prestige, we would like to invite you on a culinary voyage of taste, that commences the launch of Cardaom by Awakened Table. Join us for a multi-course dining experience, accompanied by an evening of performances and surprise guests.

Mezze: Recipes inspired by the Gansu Coridor, by the Dunhuang, by the edge of the Taklamakan, by Yumen Guan (Jade Gate Pass)

Palate Cleanser: Recipe inspired by the Gobi desert 

Main 1: Recipe inspired by the Tianshan mountains

Side Dishes: Recipes inspired by the Yang Guan and skirting the southern edges of the desert

Dessert: Recipe inspired by the route at Kashgar.

ARTISTIC JOURNEY:

Hakan Tuğrul and Ali Hasan are innovative musicians with unique styles. 

Hakan Tuğrul is a composer and santur player from Istanbul.

 Ali Hassan is a Syrian percussionist from Damascus known as a highly-skilled modern percussionist and music curator.
Both Berlin-based artists are known for creating unforgettable music experiences and sounds.

Pulsar Collective 

Equipped with two voices, a drum machine, synthesizers, percussions, guitar, and bamboo saxophone, they seamlessly blend melodic techno, indie dance, and breakbeats with wave, psychedelic rock, and a touch of world music. With the courage to venture into the unknown, they create a playful and wild and engaging electronic live performance. Each gig is a unique interpretation of their original musical ideas - no two shows will ever sound the same.

GiZ

Known for her unique energy blasting stage presence and ability to blend contrasting sonics into an irresistible whole, Berlin based selector GiZ invites listeners and groovers to travel with her, and arrive collectively as she gently but confidently creates a journey and holds space for all. Her flow is full of energizing surprises, bringing a range of eclectic sounds with some fat bass, gritty surprises thrown in which will make you close your eyes and remember how music changed your life for good :-) GiZ likes it groovy, energized and sensual. If the moment feels right, she can go darker, harder, deeper too.

Farry

Farry is a blues and psychedelia maniac from France now based in Berlin. Skilled guitar player, used to live performances, he recently tamed modular synthesizers to create his own analog sound. You can always expect from him the best mixdowns, precision and driving minimalistic and colorful elements for a tight dancey et psychedelic experience. In this progressive yet indie composition, twisted synthesizers play with one another, while the groovy bassline and the clean drum kit respond to each other into a psyminimal dance gem.

DRESS CODE:  It is never too much! we invite you to wear the colors and fabrics of the Silk Road. If you are unsure or want to get a fitting gem, feel free to stroll through our own Bazaar upon arrival.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE: As a ticket holder, a shuttle bus is included in your ticket price. You are free to use that service or come with your own transport. Nevertheless, it is part of the ticket price. The bus will leave Berlin at 12:00 from Ostbahnhof and leave for Berlin after the dinner & dance at 23:00.

BAR and BAZAAR: please bring cash for your drinks and shopping at our Bazaar.
