CLIMATE ACTION IN SHIPPING - PROGRESS TOWARDS THE 2030 BREAKTHROUGH

Held as part of the London International Shipping Week 2025, this event will launch the 2025 edition of the Climate Action in Shipping Report, an annual publication that tracks progress towards the uptake of at least 5% of scalable zero emission fuel in international shipping by 2030 whilst striving for 10%, known as the 2030 breakthrough which was launched at COP26 as part of the UN High Level Climate Champions 2030 Breakthrough Campaign.

Climate Champions, Getting to Zero Coalition, Maritime London and UCL collaborated on developing a plan of forward looking indicators that are needed to achieve shipping’s system transformation across 5 different levers; technology & supply, finance, demand, policy and civil society and subsequently on an annual basis track progress against these with a view to demonstrating where the sector is on achieving this 2030 goal and highlight real world signals of change and where progress is lacking.

This event will bring together senior leaders from across the maritime value chain to discuss the findings, highlight where action is happening in the real world economy and recommendations for scaling. 

The event will take place on Tuesday, 16 September at 11:00-13:30 at the Westminster Suite, LISW25 Global Hub @ County Hall, Belvedere Road, London SE1 7GP.
