Before children can truly learn, their brains and emotions must be regulated, and they need to feel safe in positive relationships. Therapeutic learning environments prioritize this, though large classes and limited resources can make it difficult. Small, effective strategies can transform classrooms into spaces that support regulation, connection, and reasoning. When students consistently practice self-regulation, their brains associate learning with safety and connection.
On this day, participants will:
- Discover how to create nurturing, therapeutic learning environments
- Understand trauma’s impact on brain function
- Learn practical, trauma-informed strategies
- Explore regulation tools and brain-based activities
- Build supportive spaces and teach children to access them independently
