We look forward to sharing our Reese Creek restoration project, where we carried out the following project elements:

  • We improved floodplain connection of one stream mile of Reese Creek with a series of low terrace and naturalized slope excavations anchored by large wood structures.
  • We replaced an undersized road crossing culvert, opening up fish passage to high-quality habitat.
  • We planted nearly 14 acres of streamside riparian forest.

Our work in Reese Creek benefits cutthroat trout, Pacific lamprey, and native freshwater mussels, and it increases the area's ecosystem health and hydrologic connectivity. Reese Creek is located within the Muddy Creek tributary of the Marys River watershed southwest of Finley National Wildlife Refuge.

The tour will happen rain or shine. Please come prepared for the weather and walking on muddy and uneven ground!
