Wren Prairie Project Tour

This is a popular event and has already sold out! We are working to expand capacity and will update the event with additional tickets if possible. Please add your name to the waitlist if you want to join and were unable to reserve a spot. Thank you!

Join us to learn about Fender’s Blue Butterflies and their host plant Kincaid’s Lupine. While the downlisting of FBB from endangered to threatened is a rare success story, we’ll discuss the continued importance of improving the connectivity between, and maintaining their prairie habitats. Staff from Marys River Watershed Council, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Institute for Applied Ecology, and Benton County will lead a walking tour through some prairie restoration sites in Wren, pointing out nectar and host plants important in the butterfly life cycle, and will describe the progress and plans for improving these habitats.

The tour will begin and end at Lumos Wine Company, with an optional post-tour gathering at Lumos. A special "Flight of the Butterflies" wine tasting and snacks will be available for purchase. Lumos invites attendees to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the grounds.
