The Open Jam is an event for people to tie, practise, observe and talk about Shibari. We open our doors for people who prefer to practise Shibari in a more intimate, quiet setting. There will be no introduction and no theme.

All levels are welcome. You can come on your own or come with your friends/tying partners. If it is your first time or you are relatively new to Shibari, please introduce yourself to the team and we'll help you settle in.

There is no obligation to tie. We believe that apart from attending classes and regular practice, watching peers tie form an integral part of learning as well.

Our risk policy does not allow for dynamic drops and lifts, double/triple suspensions and load bearing neck ropes. Our team reserves the right to ask you kindly to stay within your competency of tying. If they feel you are going beyond, risking your safety, the safety of your partner or others. When in doubt, please speak with our staff for clarification on our risk policy. 

Please wear something that is comfortable for you. Please note that Studio Yukari has a strict no-shoe policy. There is a cloakroom on ground level for shoes and coats.

What should I bring?

Studio Yukari is equipped with wooden beams, bamboos (2-meter long) and hashira. If you wish to tie, please bring your own ropes, safety shears and other suspension equipment that you might need, such as carabiners, rings and slings), and items for aftercare.

Limited numbers of community ropes will be available.

Tickets are non-refundable, as once they’re sold we often have a waiting list and are happy to help contact those guests to assist with reselling where possible🎟️💛. For our regularly occurring classes, we’re also very happy to rebook your ticket for a different date when needed 📅✨
