In this Weekend Intensive, we review the tools and strategies to challenge a body through ropes on an advanced level. Essential, it brings together Alexander's kink -  erotic impact play with ropes - with Natasha's research of somatic transformations.

Together we will explore beautiful suffering, endurance, Rope Bottoms learn the somatic skills to accept and integrate the impact, allowing for emotional transformation in ropes, without giving up the boundaries or sense of self.

For whom is it?

This workshop is for couples (of all age and gender constellation) who already have intermediate-advanced experience in Japanese-inspired bondage. The willingness of both partners to engage in more challenging ties in suspension and in impact play with ropes is the prerequisite for participation in this Weekend Intensive.

Bottoms must have experience in challenging suspensions with torsion load and are capable to attend their body in ropes and communicate effectively with their riggers.

Riggers must be capable to demonstrated fluency in simple static and dynamic suspensions, such as Kata-ashi and Torsion loaded suspension based on a stemless Gote, by safe and effective finish these routines in less than 30 min.

Through various exercises you repetitively practice the principles and gain confidence in your abilities as well as self-confidence in applying Semenawa during your private play.

Gains and benefits

…as a rigger:

  • deeper understanding of concepts and philosophy of Semenawa
  • becoming more creative with your own adaptions of the standard ties
  • getting fluent with complex line management in suspensions
  • understanding important non-technical aspects, such as Ma-ai, timing, communication through rope tools to create a shared experience of intimacy

… as a rope-bottom:

  • practicing using your attention to connect deeper with yourself and your partner
  • developing a feeling of your emotional and physical limits and positively communicating them
  • learning receptivity, staying soft under the impact of the ropes
  • finding a feeling of internal safety during more challenging ties


Bring along: Clothing to your taste, suiting your mood for intense rope bondage, and at least 12 jute ropes, 5 or 6 mm, length adapted to the body you are tying

Content: We are dealing with more complex techniques in semi- and full suspensions.

Level:
Riggers: Need to have a good understanding of of suspensions and transitions, are confident in tying the common harnesses and have a good and safe upline handling. Ideally you have completed Naka I or Semenawa I or an equivalent course. If in doubt, please ask the Studo Ma team.
Models:
Should be comfortable in TKs, know their limits and know how to spot nerve impingements. Ideally they should have experience in Semenawa style and have also completed Naka I, Semenawa I or an equivalent course. 

Alexander is a researcher, philosopher and experimentor. Since a long time he is fascinated by Japanese history and culture. Alexander studied Japanese martial arts on-off since 1986 and holds a black-belt in Aikido. He is also a scientist and member of an exclusive club of rope nerds that hold a PhD.

Natasha NawaTaNeko is an experienced rope bottom, performer and educator. In Kinbaku she searches for true emotions and authenticity and sees rope bondage as a deeply intimate and erotic practice that also has a profound potential for personal transformation. Drawing on her background in Sexological Bodywork, a decade of rope bottoming experience, and her studies in bodywork and movement, Natasha brings various somatic aspects such as breathing, sound, posture, non-verbal communication and placement of attention into her teaching.  Natasha published a book about rope bottoming and its potential for personal, intimate self-exploration: "Somatics for Rope Bottoms".
