Doors open: 6:30PM
Level: all levels
This immersive evening class explores how ritual transforms rope scenes— from tying to creating an experience that is deeply felt, sensual, and alive in the body.
Ritual helps us arrive. It calms the nervous system, sharpens presence, and opens the door to intimacy, intensity, and altered states. Through intentional beginnings, conscious transitions, and meaningful endings, scenes become richer, more vivid, and more deeply lived.
We’ll explore:
- Rituals to open a scene and step out of everyday life
- Ways to weave ritual into the scene
- Closing rituals that ground, integrate, and let the experience land fully in the body
- How ritual enhances trust, surrender, sensuality, and emotional depth
The evening blends demonstration, discussion, and guided exercises in an immersive way.
Participants are warmly invited to actively contribute. If you have personal rituals — or objects, textures, scents, sounds, or symbols you love to use in your scenes — bring them along and let them become part of the shared exploration.
This class is for rope practitioners who want to go beyond tying and into presence, meaning, and sensation.
Your Guides
Saara Tsuru is a Finnish artist, performer, and kinbaku instructor living in the countryside among forests, family, and animals. Grounded, brave, and vividly intuitive, she carries the presence of a modern-day viking woman. As co-owner of Kakumei Kan in Helsinki, her rope practice unites the raw instinct of nature with the refined precision of traditional kinbaku.
Anna Noctuelle’s roots weave through shamanic studies, Tantra, dance & movement as well as Reiki. For Anna, ritual and embodied practices are an integral part of life. Her teaching brings somatic depth, intuitive pacing, and a sensitivity to the inner landscapes that emerge through rope.
She is the curator and co-founder of Studio Ma, co-host of "Model Behaviour" - a Shibari podcast and she developed the Shibari Notation for suspension and transitions.
Participants:
Basic familiarity with Shibari/Kinbaku is recommended. You should know how to tie and receive simple frictions, single-column ties, and understand basic rope safety.
Participants must be willing and able to communicate clearly and respectfully and practice within their own physical and emotional limits.
Working in Pairs
- You may join with a partner or as a single participant.
Solo participants will be paired thoughtfully, but comfort and consent remain central; you are always free to decline or change partners.
