HogTies - with William TieMeTightly (intermediate)

Want to turn your bottom into a suitcase? We can do that.  Want to immobilize someone so they can be your prey? Yes, we do. William will be demonstrating a variety of hogties ranging from single rope (ipponawa) to partial and fully suspendable variations. This particular form is perhaps one of the most ancient and widely used ties in history and is equally variable in its shape and application. 

During these escalating ties, we will be going over body movement techniques, rope handling tips and tricks, and how to combine single and double column ties with hojo cuffs while employing a variety of frictions. Hair and toe ties will also be included. If you’re new to futomomos (leg binds) we’ll be going over simple versions that are great for floor ties and partials. 

William ties in the Naka style having learned primarily from Mistress Chiaki, Tokyo Japan. 

Requirements for those being tied:  

• Experience communicating the “fit” of rope on your body and the ability to communicate this to your rigger
• Somatic and practical knowledge of nerve impingement and circulation loss and how to communicate sensory experiences to your rigger
• Experience in “loaded” rope, both in partial and full suspension 

Requirements for those who are tying:

• “Intermediate” proficiency in tying, well practiced in forming Somerville Bowlines, Square Knots, Double Columns, good rope handling and body manipulation techniques
• Experience with forming hitches and proficient in upline formation and management
• Excellent listening and response skills in communicating with your partner

Attendees should bring:

- Rope kit of 10 pcs of varying lengths if possible or 6 full and three half lengths if you plan on incorporating uplines.  If not, a kit of 6 pieces is sufficient. 

- Bandana or furoshiki, 3-4mm jute lengths at 6-8M length for hair and toe ties if possible. 

About the teacher: 
William (they/she) is a queer artist, designer and builder based in Brooklyn, New York; a dominant, a pervert, a rope bondage enthusiast, a sadist, and the founder of Temple New York. 
William has been a student of Shibari since meeting Midori in 2004.  Since then they have had the honor of learning from many teachers, most notably with Chiaki(Japan) and KissMeDeadlyDoll (New York) focusing primarily on Naka style and seme-nawa.  
Since the founding of Temple New York in 2019,  William has been working as a community organizer, educator, and professional Dominant. They combine their experiences in theater, performing arts and their degrees in fine art to build worlds of the imagination within venues like Temple and within private and performance spaces.  
They has tied with internationally acclaimed Shibari artist Hajime Kinoko for their New York performance art installations and have presented at Dark Odyssey, Dances of Vice and Torture Garden. William’s work has been published in Kinbaku Society Berlin, Spunk Magazine, Petite Mort Magazine and Subspace Magazine.
