Uplines & Hard Point Safety

In this evening class, we’ll deepen our understanding of suspension line management with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and control.

We’ll begin with a recap of uplines, exploring different methods to lock them off both low and high. Participants will learn practical variations for securing lines on bamboo as well as single-point setups.

The class will cover safe lifting and lowering techniques. Through targeted exercises and drills, participants will build confidence handling uplines, managing friction and load, and maintaining awareness throughout the suspension process.

We’ll also look closely at assessing hard points—how to evaluate safety, load direction, environmental factors, and risk mitigation. Special emphasis will be placed on best practices to keep both rigger and model safe at every stage of the tie.

This class is conceived as a focused, hands-on study space for practitioners with foundational suspension experience who wish to refine their technique, cultivate confident rope handling, and uphold safety standards.
