Ashi Shibari Floor & Partials
Leg-based partial suspensions — structure, torsion, and the many ways in
In this class we'll work with the leg and calf binder. We'll cover the harness itself — clean, sustainable construction you can trust to take weight — and then play with what the rest of the body does around it. With torsion or without: how introducing a twist through the torso changes the shape, the load, and the feeling of the partial entirely.
About the Format ELEMENTAL FLOW
Most of us learn rope as a pile of recipes. A tie here, a harness there, a sequence memorised off a video — and then we plateau, because we never learned why any of it holds. This is the class that fixes that.
ELEMENTAL FLOW is a monthly class format that complements the foundational courses, where you build and deepen real, durable skill at any level and finally understand the machine under the hood. You'll drill the core ties, harnesses, and sequences until they live in your hands, not your head. You'll walk out with sharper technique, cleaner lines, smoother transitions, and the muscle memory that turns hesitation into flow. In short: you'll become fluent.
But here's what makes this room different. Every tie has a temperament. We'll learn to read them through the four elements — fire, water, earth, air — a framework that turns a hundred scattered patterns into a handful of archetypes you can actually feel. Once you know which element a tie belongs to, you know how it wants to be tied, where it grips, how it moves, and what it's doing to the body inside it.
And because the why is inseparable from the what, we'll go deep: into the intricacies of each tie, into what it means to embody it from both sides, into the felt difference between a tie that merely holds and one that speaks. Hands on rope, bodies learning, with the kind of conversation that makes the skill stick.
You'll leave with:
- A solid, transferable foundation of ties, harnesses, and sequences
- Better rope literacy — the ability to read, build, and adapt rather than copy
- Real muscle memory and flow, drilled until it's automatic
- Cleaner, more efficient, more confident technique
- A whole new lens — the four elements — for understanding why rope behaves the way it does
Come whether you're brand new or rebuilding your fundamentals from the ground up. You'll learn the rope. You'll also learn to think in it.
