Being in rope is more than simply being tied. It’s an active, embodied practice—one that asks for presence, communication, and awareness. Whether you're drawn to rope for its beauty, intensity, surrender, or self-discovery, this class will introduce you to the skills and knowledge that form the foundation of empowered rope modelling.

In this class we will talk about risks, safety and injuries and how to look after yourself. We will cover:

  • Basic safety and body mechanics, including nerve awareness
  • Injuries and strains on the body doing rope bondage - what happens and how to avoid them (we are looking into the structural composition of our bodies)
  • Proprioception
  • Negotiation and consent for health in rope: building a container
  • How to give feedback and build trust with your tying partner

Rope is not about “endurance” or how much you can take—it’s about learning to listen to your body, communicate your needs, and engage with rope in a way that feels authentic and grounded for you. Whether you're brand new to rope or looking to deepen your knowledge as a bottoming, this workshop will give you valuable insight into your body mechanics.

No partner required. All bodies and identities welcome.
