Matlock Storytelling Cafe presents: Tales from Two Worlds
Fri 1 Jul 2022 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM BST
Imperial Rooms, DE43NL
Description
July sees our resident Storytellers Rachel Murray and Debs Page at the helm. They are inviting you to enter Two Worlds (at the very least). The stories they have in store are bound by the laws and customs of Honour and Duty. Travel with them between many worlds where quests are embraced, great journeys undertaken and honour is to be upheld at all costs.
Debs brings us tales of Artegall and Radigund, stories from a 16th Century epic featuring wild warrior women, cross dressing knights and a fearsome robot sidekick. We step even further back in time, to ancient Greece, as Rachel brings cautionary tales of the events that can result from insulting your host or even worse, The Gods. Stories of pride, power and passion as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago.
Bang up to date though is our fantastic house band Cage of Crows who will also be rocking it live from the stage.
Things get wilder still with our latest news. Hold onto your hats. Drum roll please..
Our July Cafe is entering another dual reality. Having had a wonderful time in the Zoomiverse for a couple of years AND having delighted at being back telling live we are now Going For Gold. We WILL be live and in the room but we will ALSO be streaming into your room via Zoom!!! You can tell this is important news due not only to the capitalisation but also italics and numerous exclamation marks. This is because we don't do things by halves (actually we do have an interval).
So if you're willing and able, schmooze on down to the Imperial Rooms in Matlock and join us live. If you're elsewhere in the world or can't join us live for whatever reason then sit back in your pyjamas, curl up on the settee and click on the link.
If you're coming live you are very welcome to bring your own drinks and refreshments (non noisy snacks etc) (leave the crisps at home). We urge you to book in advance as we cannot guarantee there will be tickets available on the door. We would also like to encourage our audience members to perform a lateral flow test before attending.
If you're watching online your snacks can be as noisy as you wish. Online ticket sales will close at 7pm on the night.
We at Matlock Storytelling Cafe are embracing our quest; to bring top quality performances to adult audiences.
Grab a ticket, turn off your phone and join us on a journey.
The doors opens at 7.00pm, stories and music 7.30-9.30
Tickets are £7 live £5 online.
