The penultimate concert in Kate and Matthew's year long celebration of Morton Feldman's centenary and the composers connected to him. In the first concert we presented the music of Andrew Toovey, then Linda Catlin Smith and now we turn to a composer both Kate and I have a lot of time for, Christopher Fox. This will be the world premiere of "The Grace of Unknowing", dedicated to Kate will also play Feldman's 1977 work "Piano" and a new work for voice and piano by Matthew called "The Fading Light"
"Whereas most music has the inherent drama of a beginning, middle and end, Feldman became preoccupied with a music that was all middle ... late Feldman is not about making art out of life; rather, it is about creating a time and space in which life is exclusively filled with the experience of music." Christopher Fox (Guardian article, 2006)
