Night Moves with LOCULUS and special guest Rosie Borden
Night Moves with LOCULUS and special guest Rosie Borden
NIGHT MOVES grew out of LOCULUS Collective's desire for a dance class that felt like dancing at the club with your friends. NIGHT MOVES is a space to learn simple moves, explore, get sweaty, and connect. They draw upon social dance forms such as line dancing, zumba, and jazzercise and combine that with a streak of experimental dance and somatics. You can expect a guided warm up, loose structure to generate heat/ explore rhythm and flow, and some fun low pressure choreography. NIGHT MOVES always ends with a dance party and this edition of the class will feature an open dance opportunity to the music of local pop icon Rosie Borden.

Artist Bio
LOCULUS is the creative platform of Olana Flynn and Madison Palffy--dance makers and performance curators based in Holyoke, MA. Their work is often performed in bars, yards, and houses; responding to site and everyday material, they weave together improvisational structures across movement, sound, and object. As LOCULUS, Madison and Olana have developed a teaching practice drawing upon 15 years of making and performing together. Their teaching is rooted in a firm belief that dance and movement are for everybody.
Rosie Borden is Portland, Maine's beloved girl pop icon. Her music brings the party to stage, but it's almost as if you're watching her perform right from her bedroom. The vibe is playful, joyous, and without pretension, but music has layers beyond its pop facade.
