Description

Join us for Maine's annual flamenco dance showcase! This afternoon performance celebrates the growing and talented flamenco dance community of Maine. Beautiful solos and ensemble choreographies will highlight diverse and traditional styles of flamenco, such as Tientos, Tarantos, Alegrías, Fandangos de Huelva, Guajiras, Caña, Zorongo, Tangos and more. 

Students have been preparing and polishing their pieces for over a year now, with great passion and dedication; they will no doubt WOW you with their talent and skill. Please join us to celebrate their work and to support flamenco in Maine!

Saturday, May 7 | Doors open at 3:00 PM

Show begins at 3:30 PM; 90-minutes with an intermission.

Tickets are available for $15 in advance, $18 at the door, and $22 for preferred seating (sliding scale available)

ARTIST BIO

Based in Portland, Maine, Lindsey Bourassa is a flamenco dancer, choreographer, and teacher with a Master of Flamencology Degree from Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) and a Certificate of Professionalization in Flamenco Arts from El Centro de Arte y Flamenco de Sevilla (Seville, Spain). She has performed and taught in both Spain and the United States and currently teaches Flamenco as part of the Bates College Dance Department in Lewiston, Maine.

Lindsey performs traditional flamenco with national and international flamenco artists, as well as her own original contemporary-flamenco works that illustrate multimedia, multi-genre storytelling, often woven together with her own creative prose.

COVID-19 POLICY


All patrons and staff attending events will need to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (or negative test from within 48 hours) along with a matching photo ID.

Audience members, staff, and volunteers will be asked to mask while not actively eating, or drinking.

CANCELLATION POLICY


Mayo Street Arts has a no refund policy for all reservations. In the event that MSA is forced to cancel an event due to weather, illness, etc., refunds will be offered via the Ticket Tailor platform.
