Le Bon Truc’s music is fun to listen to and fun to dance to. The concert will include many tunes that folks with some experience can dance to - part of the room will be open to dance in.

So that everyone can get a taste of this, we'll be mixing in quick lessons by expert French folk dance instructor Marie Wendt. Even if you don't know the steps to particular dances, it's fine if you just want to do "La Boogie."

Saturday, June 11 | Doors open at 7:00

Show begins at 7:30 PM; 120-minutes with intermission

Tickets are available for $15 in advance, $18 at the door, and $22 for preferred seating (sliding scale available)

ARTIST BIO

Le Bon Truc is a unique and dynamic band that is breathing new life into off-the-beaten-path French folk music. They’ve been performing together for nearly ten years, ever since discovering their shared fascination with the diversity of French dance music. Le Bon Truc treats audiences to tunes from many different regions of France: branle from Alsace, gavotte from Brittany, bourree from Auvergne and valse, mazurka, and schottische from all around the country (and beyond).

The band is Steve Gruverman, woodwinds; Barb Truex (dulcimer, banjo ukulele, and tenor guitar); and Gary Chapin, accordions. Over the decade, they've played on street corners, in cafes, at dance festivals, in barns, in an orchard, and in a surprising number of churches. Their goal is to bring a little bit of uncomplicated, rhythmic, and melodic happiness with them wherever they go.
