Electrified: An Evening With Mavy
Fri Jun 10, 2022 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Mayo Street Arts, 04101
Description
A fiery set of classical crossover, rock, ethnic, and dance songs performed on the violin like you've never seen and heard!
Mavy Le is an 18-year-old violinist residing in Gorham, Maine. She picked up the violin at the tender age of 6 years old and hasn't been able to go a day without playing it since. At age 10, she purchased her first electric violin and started recording at age 15 during the COVID-19 pandemic to pass time. During this time, Mavy also worked on perfecting and polishing her performing skills in order to prepare for gigs after the pandemic. Through her hours of practice, she gained confidence and a newfound love for the violin. For the past 7 years, Mavy has performed with the Portland Youth Ensembles, as well as taking part in playing in the pit in multiple shows, including Mozart's "The Magic Flute," and the musical, "Into The Woods." In February of 2022, she performed at the Winter Carnaval in Portland, and has gone on to take part in multiple International Open Mic shows, here at Mayo Street Arts.
In the coming year, she will be attending Bates College in Lewiston, majoring in Biology, and of course minoring in music performance, primarily focused on the violin.
