ABOUT THE ARTIST
Brave Bucket Co. makes puppet theater for family & adult audiences that is playful, rooted in complex characters, and tells original stories. Their work has received support from the Jim Henson Foundation, and their members have worked in puppetry for over 10 years creating, performing, and teaching for fancy folks like Sesame Street, Banksy, and The New Victory Theater.
They believe children deserve theater that speaks to their full range of emotions, and adults deserve theater that speaks to their inner child. To this end, they use a wide range of puppetry and performance styles to further our storytelling, illuminate emotions, and have a lot of fun.
Marta Mozelle MacRostie holds a BA in Puppetry & Music from UMass Amherst and is a many-time alum of the O'Neill Puppetry Conference. At the O'Neill she's studied with Paul Zaloom, Ronnie Burkett, Phillip Huber, Marty Robinson, Tim Lagasse, and Robert Smythe. She has trained in Clown with Virginia Scott at Movement Theater Studio, and with John Leo.
At UMass Marta studied vocal jazz performance, and for awhile there, she was a jazz singer who fronted the Mozelle Trio (playing restaurants and such), and Marta Mozelle & her Solid Senders (a jump blues quintet that played swing events and weddings). If you ever need a jazz vocalist, please just ask.
As a teaching artist, Marta has over 10 years of experience, and has created curriculum and taught for The New Victory Theater, Elders Share the Arts, and Hartford Children's Theater.
Marta volunteers as a weekly hospice visitor, and she served on the Artistic Direction Committee for the 2013 National Puppetry Festival.
