Our young mermaid dreams of exploring the human world and finding true love. When she makes a daring deal with a sea witch, it looks like her dreams might come true. But will the price be too high, or will the forces of good triumph over evil?

Following the sensational success of previous local productions, director and MCA Trust Patron Sue Ospreay works her magic once again to bring us an unforgettable take on the beloved story. With toe-tapping tunes, hilarious comedy, and a fresh yet familiar twist, expect a dazzling cast, stunning costumes, and waves of laughter! Oh, yes you should!

All About The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is a classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, first published in 1837. It tells the story of a young mermaid who longs to live on land and win the heart of a human prince. Through a dangerous bargain with a sea witch, she gains her wish but must face immense challenges.

This timeless tale has captivated audiences for generations and has been adapted into numerous films, books, and stage productions. Disney's 1989 animated adaptation brought the story to new heights of popularity, introducing iconic songs and characters that have become part of our cultural lexicon. Disney’s version follows the adventures of Ariel, a spirited young mermaid who dreams of a life beyond the sea. With the help of her friends, she navigates the human world and battles the sea witch Ursula to find her happily ever after.

The Cause: By attending the MCA Trust 'The Little Mermaid', you'll be supporting the MCA Trust Children's Cancer Charity. Alongside Lightnin' & Thunder Productions, you will be supporting the MCA Trust, and the work they do in and around Essex for children with cancer. Find out more here.
