The presentation will define and describe updated conceptualizations of executive functioning as well as evidence demonstrating that executive function skills influence performance and participation in all aspects of function and across a variety of populations (e.g. healthy individuals, those with chronic illness). An in-depth review of executive function (EF) skills and the interdependence of EF with memory will provide a foundation for the interpretation of functional cognitive performance errors. Participants will analyze and interpret task errors and behaviors occurring during everyday situations and IADL activities using an executive functioning framework, through written case scenarios and video clips.
