Regenerative Farm Tour
An afternoon of learning and fun will start with an immersive soil health talk and regenerative farm tour. You will traverse the pastures to meet the cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens of Medicine Creek Farm while learning about rotational grazing practices, beneficial microbes, carbon sequestration, and livestock guardian dogs.
Farmers Market & Cocktail Hour
Following the tour we'll have a farmers market featuring the wares and products of local farmers such as beeswax candles, tallow lotions, herb salts and teas, wool crafts, apple cider, produce, and cottage foods. Grab a cocktail featuring locally sourced beverages while enjoying the bucolic scenery. Kids activities and games will keep the little ones busy while you chat with area farmers and shop for goods.
Butcher's Dinner
Settle into a rustic dinner featuring pulled pork, barbecued lamb, farmstead brick oven bread, cheese and Jersey-cow butter, herbaceous condiments, and organic salads and sides. Prepared in collaboration with Y-ker Acres butcher Brian Merkel and Baptism River Barbecue Co with locally-sourced ingredients. A cash bar with full drink service will feature drinks and wine from local and natural producers with non-alcoholic options available.
Barn Dance
Following dinner, the hayloft will be hopping with the two-stepping sounds of classic country band Heartbreak Affair as we revive the tradition of the old-fashioned barn dance. A cash bar will be available throughout the dance.
FAQs
What do the tickets cover?
Tickets cover the tour, dinner, and dance. A cash bar will be available throughout including both alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets for kids 6 and under are free.
Where will I park?
Parking will be at the top of the hill as you turn into the farm's driveway. It will be a short but pleasant walk from the parking area to the main farm yard for all event activities. Please be mindful of the electric fences along the driveway and don't let your children touch them!
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
A handicapped-accessible bathroom and parking drop-off/pick up point will be readily available. Portions of the farm tour and historic farm buildings may not be accessible.
What should I wear?
Most of the event will be outdoors. Please bring layers for all types of weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty if you’ll be joining the farm tour.
Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?
We’re unable to offer refunds but let us know if you can’t make it and we may be able to assist you with transferring your tickets to someone on the waiting list.
Can I somehow still come if I can't afford the sliding scale price?
Let us know and we'll find a way.
Is photography allowed?

Can I BYOB?
Sorry, no.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no. We use livestock guardian dogs to protect our animals. The presence of your dog could put them in danger and/or cause undue stress to our working guardians. The presence of your dog could also cause undue stress to the other livestock on the farm, even if on leash. The presence of your dog will definitely cause undue stress to the farmers. For your sake and ours, please do not bring your dog, no matter how well-behaved they are.
Is this a vegetarian friendly event?
Yes, but there will be whole animals cooking over fire in your field of sight and we will not provide a vegetarian “main dish”, BUT the quantity and quality of vegetarian options available will still make the dinner worth it.
What is the plan if the weather gets nasty?
The event is rain or shine. We’ll move dinner into the barn in the event of rain.
This party is gonna be so fun, I won’t want to leave, can I camp at the farm?
Maybe. Ask Hannah, but we can't promise there'll be coffee in the mornin’!
This event has been organized in collaboration with a project through Renewing the Countryside, the Sustainable Farming Association, and the Minnesota Farmers Union to promote and expand agritourism opportunities through local on-farm events.
