Farmers Market & Cocktail Hour

Following the tour we'll have a farmers market featuring the wares and products of local farmers such as beeswax candles, soaps, herb salts and teas, wool crafts, mushrooms, fruits and vegetables, wild-caught fish and cottage foods. Grab a cocktail featuring locally sourced beverages while enjoying the bucolic scenery. Kids activities and games will keep the little ones busy while you chat with area farmers and shop for goods.

Vendors include:
Uncle Herman's Farm

The Gothic Farmstead
Heirloomista
Ewe Betcha Market

Yarrow Bone Farmstead
Great Northern Seafoods
The Land Stewardship Project
Wild Farm Alliance
and more!

A cash bar will feature cocktails and wine curated by the Libation Project from local and natural producers with non-alcoholic options available. Beer with support from our friends at Moose Lake Brewing and cider from Sapsucker Farms Yellow Belly Cidery.

Butcher's Dinner

Settle into a rustic dinner featuring country-cured ham, lamb sausage, Laune Bread, sheep's milk cheese, herbaceous condiments, and organic salads and sides. We'd call this a little bit fancy but definitely not fussy.

Prepared in collaboration with Y-ker Acres butcher Brian Merkel, Baptism River's barbecue master, and Denham Run Bar & Grill's excellent chef with locally-sourced ingredients from:

Medicine Creek Farm
Y-ker Acres
Rising Phoenix Community Farm
Food Farm
Shepherd's Way Farms
Abraham's Table Farm
and more!

Barn Dance

Following dinner, the hayloft will be hopping with the two-stepping sounds of classic country band Heartbreak Affair as we revive the tradition of the old-fashioned barn dance. A cash bar will be available throughout the dance.

Sponsors

While farms are not non-profits (technically... feel free to strike up a conversation with a farmer about this!), this event is a labor of love, not money. We aim to pay the farmers the true cost of their production, and the makers, musicians, and servers involved a living wage ... but everyone needs to eat and we all deserve access to healthy food and community belonging.

Our sponsors help make this event accessible to more people while ensuring no one anywhere along the food chain from farm to table is exploited. Many thanks to our generous community sponsors!

FAQs

What do the tickets cover?

Tickets cover the tour, dinner, and dance. A cash bar will be available throughout including both alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets for kids 6 and under are free.

Where will I park?

Parking will be at the top of the hill as you turn into the farm's driveway. It will be a short but pleasant walk from the parking area to the main farm yard for all event activities. Please be mindful of the electric fences along the driveway and don't let your children touch them!

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

A handicapped-accessible bathroom and parking drop-off/pick up point will be readily available. Portions of the farm tour and historic farm buildings may not be accessible.

What should I wear?

Most of the event will be outdoors. Please bring layers for all types of weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty if you’ll be joining the farm tour.

Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?

We’re unable to offer refunds but let us know if you can’t make it and we may be able to assist you with transferring your tickets to someone on the waiting list.

Can I somehow still come if I can't afford the ticket price?

We have discount codes available for those in need. Let us know and we'll find a way.

Is photography allowed?

Yes! Please tag us on social media!
@MedicineCreekFarm, @YkerAcres , @merkelations, @libationproject

Can I BYOB?

Sorry, no.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, no. We use livestock guardian dogs to protect our animals. The presence of your dog could put them in danger and/or cause undue stress to our working guardians. The presence of your dog could also cause undue stress to the other livestock on the farm, even if on leash. The presence of your dog will definitely cause undue stress to the farmers. For your sake and ours, please do not bring your dog, no matter how well-behaved they are.

Is this a vegetarian friendly event?

Yes, but there will be whole animals cooking over fire in your field of sight and we will not provide a vegetarian “main dish”, BUT the quantity and quality of vegetarian options available will still make the dinner worth it.

What is the plan if the weather gets nasty?

The event is rain or shine. There will be a tent in the event of rain.

This party is gonna be so fun, I won’t want to leave, can I camp at the farm?

There are a few camping spots available! Ask Hannah to coordinate, but we can't promise there'll be coffee in the mornin’!
