Medicine of the Four Directions: A Journey into 'Celtic' Cosmology

Description
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Join us at Moor Barton Wilding in a two day exploration of the true Pretani ancestry of the British Isles.
Combining deep listening on the land, visionary journeying and tracking the clues left by Iron Age Ancestors and the mythology of Medieval Ireland and Wales. Together we meet our soul's urge to connect with an authentic honouring of this land, our ancestors and the spirits of these wild places. Under the expert tutelage of animist, seer and Prehistory expert Sam MacLaren, we can find our way back to our roots, acknowledging the past, while forging a new path forward for the 21st century.
This two-day exploration offers unique, in-person training to facilitate reconnection to our ancestry through visionary journeys to the Iron Age peoples of the British Isles, the Pretani, and accessing the ancestral memory which we all hold within our DNA. It will also introduce an early Irish cosmological model, which, when engaged with in an animistic way, functions beautifully as a ‘medicine wheel’, and despite being at least 1500 years old, can be applied entirely successfully to our modern existence.
With the growing acknowledgement of the appropriation of indigenous cultures around the world, there is an increasing need for those of us from these isles to rediscover our own practices.
The workshop may challenge some existing misconceptions around all things ‘Celtic’, but in doing so, clear the way for a deeper, more authentic connection.
YOUR TEACHER:
Sam MacLaren is a British animist and seer who has devoted her life to unearthing authentic indigenous British practices, often inaccurately described as ‘Celtic Shamanism’.
Sam’s visionary work is academically supported through her private tuition with Harvard Celtic Scholar Sharon Paice MacLeod, a First-Class Honours degree in Celtic Studies with the University of Wales - Trinity Saint David, and her current study of Ritual and Religion in Prehistory with Oxford University, marking Sam as one of the premier experts on authentic indigenous practices in these isles.
