Series Four
Making progress in meditation, continued
Meditation is a method to make our mind peaceful and positive. Simple meditations like focussing on our breathing can make us feel calm and relaxed - but only for a short while. To really become a more peaceful, kinder, wiser and happier person we need to learn to look at our life in a different way, change our priorities and to orientate our life in a spiritual direction. To help us do this Buddha taught a cycle of contemplations called Lamrim, or the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment, which serve to transform our mind from its limited, self-centred and often unhappy state into the infinitely blissful and altruistic enlightened mind. This series of classes is an introduction to this cycle.
