Megaphone Writers CIC

We are a not-for-profit making affordable, accessible, transformative creative development opportunities for people of colour who write for children. We want every child to see themselves in books - and as authors of books. This event is sponsored by ALCS

Megaphone Writers CIC is a not-for-profit writer development organisation. Our mission is to support people of colour who create literature for children and teenagers, by providing them with affordable, accessible, transformative opportunities to develop their creative practice and connect to an audience. We do this primarily through mentoring, workshops and creative learning and networking events. Our ultimate goal is for every child to see themselves in stories – and as authors of their own stories. Since 2016, many of our mentees have gone on to publication and successful careers.
