Learn Mahjong — individualized coaching in a comprehensive beginner class

A complete initiation into American Mahjong, taught in a single, small-group session by Central Mississippi’s most experienced mahjong instructors.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR MAHJONG LESSON

Our 3-hour American Mahjong class is polished, proven, and packed with everything you need to learn how to play mahjong with confidence, whether you're brand new or just need a refresher to get back on track.

You’ll join us at our dedicated poolhouse classroom, where beginners thrive in our focused small-group sessions (maximum 8 students).

Our personal approach intertwines the intricacies of the tiles and the language of the card. Armed with these fundamentals, we'll guide you through your first game where you'll learn the official standard rules¹ by seeing them in action. Finally, apply and cement your newly-gained knowledge of the rules & rituals in your first solo game, while your coaches introduce the cornerstones of strategy to each player one-on-one throughout the game.

Our attention to each individual creates a foundation for our students to become self-assured strategists. You’ll leave class feeling excited to play again — and confident that you can.

• $80 per person reflects our small class size, professional class materials, dedicated classroom, continued education through our Mahj Life Instructors Guild membership, and Oh My Mahjong Certification²
• Want a private class? Reserve all 8 seats (even if you don’t have 8 players)
• During check-out, you may opt to purchase a NMJL card from our inventory. Published annually by the National Mah Jongg League, this is the only piece of game equipment every individual needs to continue playing throughout the year.
