Perseids Meteor Shower Campout 2023 (7th Annual Mendocino Magic Event)

Mendocino Magic is hosting our 7th annual Perseids Meteor Shower campout and you’re in for an exciting and uniquely magical experience complete with tea, telescopes, soup, and stories.

On August 11th at 8pm, join Mendocino Magic founder Mackenzie O'Donnell in a discussion with bestselling author Obi Kaufmann on the impacts of light pollution on biodiversity and our planet's future.

On the evening of August 12th, guests are welcome to join us for a meteor shower viewing at Methuselah’s Observatory with telescopes, tea service, and hot soup. We will have soup available at the knoll for some late night nourishment-includes vegetarian and omnivore options. We will have a self-service tea station (bring your mug if you want to bring tea back to your blanket).

Ticket Options

• Tent Camping for 1 Guest—You’ll be able to drop your camping gear near your site and park in the main lot. 
• Car Camping for 2 Guests—You’ll be able to camp right next to your car or sleep in your vehicle. Each car camping spot has space for one car and one large tent.
• RV/Big Car for 2 Guests—These long shady spots are located on the back loop of the campground. You’ll be able to back in a vehicle up to 25’ long.
• [SOLD OUT] RV Site with 30AMP Power for 2 Guests—Bring your Camper, up to 25’ long, and we’ll hook you up with 30AMP power.
• [SOLD OUT] Queen Luxe Tent with Solar lights for 2 guests - comes with linens on the bed and 2 chairs. 
• ADD Child Ticket for 2 Nights—For children ages 0 to 14. All children must be directly supervised by an adult at all times.
• ADD Child Ticket for 1 Night—For children ages 0 to 14. All children must be directly supervised by an adult at all times.
• ADD Thursday—Add Thursday night to your ticket and get to set up first.
• ADD Red Settings Headlamp—These headlamps are preferred and encouraged to maximize night vision-comes with batteries.
• ADD Saturday Paintball—Add PAINTBALL to your weekend! Join us Saturday at 10am. Includes all gear. 10 years old and up.

Red/Green Headlamps are Highly Recommended We ask that you don’t use bright white headlamps or flashlights during the meteor shower. Headlamps with red or green low-light settings allow our eyes to adjust to see the most from the stars. You can add a red headlamp to your ticket order for $20 and pick it up when you arrive.
