Without Genesis, the rest of the Bible is incomprehensible. Unveiling no less than the creation of the world and everything in it, including human life, as well as the birth of sin and the promise of a Savior.
In this powerful 28-session study, participating men of the parish will prepare each lesson ahead of time and meetings will concentrate on group discussion, Q+A, and the connection of the Book of Genesis to the Catholic Catechism. We will learn about this crucial first book of the Bible, including:
The theological significance of covenants: what they meant for the ancient Jews, and what they mean for us today
What the Binding of Isaac actually signifies and what Noah’s ark represents
How to have a personal relationship with the “God of your fathers” (Exodus 3:15)
The men's study group will meet each Monday from 7PM-830PM starting September 13, 2021 until April 11, 2022 with time off during Christmas. You are not "required" to attend every study session. This is for your benefit, come as often as your schedule will allow.
When purchasing you will select the 1st day you will be able to attend. The Course starts September 13th with lesson #1 with each week being a new lesson (September 20th lesson #2 and so on) There are a total of 28 lesson weeks.
There is only room for 150 men (18 years and older). Once space has filled we will have a waiting list. After sign-up each man will be assigned a specific study group of 10-15 people. At the start of each meeting there will be a 5 minute announcement and then the men will break into their assigned groups to discuss study questions for 40 minutes. Afterwards everyone will gather in the Hall to watch a 30-40 minute talk from a Catholic priest about that weeks lesson.
